ABOUT THE ARTIST
Humberto Grullon is Visual Dominican Artist who moved to the United States, being greatly attracted to the great
museums, and magical repetition of the geometric figures of New York. From an early
age he devoted himself to the Visuals Arts, being self-taught in music, photography, drawing, and painting. He entered the School of Fine Arts in his
native city and graduated in 1980. He later studied a BA in PUCMM , in Philosophy
and Literature. In addition, he worked there as a Technician in Visual Production. Between 1991 and 1993, he completed a postgraduate studies at the Academy The
Arts Student League of New York in color composition, assembly and portrait, with
renowned teachers as Piter Cox, Leo Manso , Nelson Shanks and others. In 1995 he earned MA at City of New York, Cum Laude. Also in 2003 he received a
scholarship from the Spanish Embassy and studied Art History and Literature at
the University of Salamanca. He Graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005. Between
1982 and 2012 he participated in numerous group exhibitions and solo shows in Dominican Republic. He then started working in the US in Post Secondary Education in 1992, at the School New York as
Permanent Professor of Arts and Literature. In 2010, The Dominican Republic government, awarded for his 28 years teaching Latino students in his native country as
well in New York City. Art and creation are his passion as a means of expression.
